Oh Man...I refuse to let this blog falter into the abyss. I felt there was a little lull in creative (in general) for the past several months. Plus, I've been busier than an Amsterdam Pimp. But fear not...My frequency of updates might be low but I'll stop by every so often to try to enlighten your spirits with stuff that catches my eye. Other than that, here is another round of sausage-links..eat 'em up!! Mmmm-Mmmm Good.

Royale Flaunting it up.

The folks at Royale, Jayson Whitmore & Brien Holman, are at it again. with a little special something for Flaunt magazine sponsored by Diesel. Not much to say but to jump on their site and experience a 3 minute concoction of collagey VFX, Cell-Animation, and patented "maestro camera-moves" that only these guys can perfect. Astounding...They rocked it in a minuscule 3 weeks. I mean, who does that? Jerks. Always Love Fellas.

Gosset's Got It.

Ex-Exopolis Superstar, Brian Gossett, has been running around town as high-end work for hire. Yes, He sometimes wears ultra-bright baby-blue Vans..yeah yeah, I know it's rockstar but I'm gonna have to call him out on it. Otherwise, the guy has some definite skills to pay the bills...Design, Illustration, and Typography for the masses. Check out the site and jump on the bandwagon.

Laundry washes it clean.

Our good buddies over at Laundry have been really cleaning it up over the past year. I blogged PJ Richardson's madness earlier and now with Tony Liu as part of the stable they are definitely in it to win it. With a tight collection of Premium stuff to showcase, and much more to come, we can be sure they'll be around for a while. Also, I've verified that they firmly believe in Sasquatches, Trolls, and Fairies. Finally, someone who's on the same page! Wheeeew!

The Harder Way

Reclusive Legend, Friend, and European Rockstar, Justin Harder, has been at it for a while now...the force behind, now defunct, LAMBO, he is on a personal mission to destroy all in his path. If you haven't scoured his site please get on now as there are some nice and tasty bits. Check the Budweiser spot...in only a way Harder can do it.

More Saunders Please.

These big hiatus holes are happening waaay too often. Holidays are approaching so I better get this out of the way before I'm buried. Anyhow...If you haven't checked out Jon Saunder's work then you are really missing out. Plus, he's just a really nice guy and has really red hair...whoa. The brother of the other design machine, Chris Saunders, who also makes my head spin, is currently killin it as one of Psyop's in-house super designers. I'll be the first to say that Psyop is paramount in our bizz these days, and with guys like Jon I can see why. Peep the magico HERE.

Shiny Binary

Per his website here is some info: Nik Ainley is a UK based web designer who also has a passion for producing personal art and illustrations. His work is featured in many magazines as well as on books, album covers, posters and clothing. He was listed as one of the "Top 10 up-and-coming creative talents of 2006" by Computer Arts magazine, and later as "the Computer Arts artist of the moment". Again...not American. Grrrrr. but sooooo good.

eepmon

eepmon is Eric Chan...his prints are heavily influenced by Japanese print, graffiti, and music– the intricacy and detail cannot be fully appreciated with these graphics, so you should definitely look at them on the eepmon website where there is a zoom feature. So go..now! Do it! I'm here! Ok, gotta relax.

Perttu Murto

Perttu Murto is a 20-year-old Finnish graphic artist, and his portfolio is nothing short of, well, rad. Again, I'm challenging you americans to step up! I keep posting the foreign madness and it's not like I'm losing faith but c'mon now! Step Up! Muhahahaha.

Hello Color

Per Josh Spear: Hello Color (previously Norbb) is the design portfolio of 22 year old Pawel Nolbert– a freelance graphic designer, interactive, branding 3D genius based in Poland. You’re probably thinking to yourself “another 20-something graphic design mad-man?”, us too. With tools like Photoshop, Illustrator, a decent computer and a great imagination, we’re seeing extremely talented individuals come out of every city worldwide. Pawel has some nice prints available for sale as well.

Motomichi

Tokyo Born Motomichi Nakamura rocks the character flow like no other. Residing in Brooklyn his, simple, three color characters have graced installations, MTV ads, and VJ sets all over. Lending a designer's sense of shape and color to his character designs it's easy to see why designer fiends, such as myself, are attracted to his character sensibilities. Check out the site...lots of sutff to peruse including a blog and new happenings. Hoo-Wah.

Porte-Voix

One more time with the French...Parisian Benoit Godde is a designer/illustrator who I don't have much background information on but I do like his collection of female paintings which evoke some great emotive characteristics and not to mention the rad use of dark moody desat colors. Check it out and enjoy. 07..wowsers.

Qleem

Qleem is the work of Thomas Le Mouellic, co-founder of Phono.com, with Antoine Caillet. Nice and tidy and not too overwhelming...just solid good looking stuff from, again, another french crew. Anyhow, lots more to report after my trip to vietnam...pics and what not coming soon. Finally decompressing so please stand by.Hideeeeee Hooooo.

Without Reason

Without Reason is a limited edition art book dedicated to the roots and lifestyle of street culture, capturing the works of graffiti artists, painters, designers, illustrators, photographers and tattoo artists from Australia, USA, canada, and the UK. In two words..GET IT!

Imagini Gift Finder

All I'm gonna say is that this has helped me get some ideas for what gifts to get peeps...I found this over at Josh Spear's site and it is definitely useful. Rad.

Flisky

Nathan Gray is ,yet, another designer with a long scroll website portfolio. Who started that madness anyway? His list may be scarce for now and maybe it's not even that special...but it's clean and designed well. Some nice little logo explorations as well. Peep it if you're just wandering. Otherwise, (not usually a Starbucks guy) try the Gingerbread Latte..Nice in this chilly weather.

MadeForYouEveryday

Richard Arifin was born in Jakarta and at the ripe age of 22 he is putting new meaning to the word "details." He is currently an art director for ThinkingRoom, a Jakarta based Ideation Company...and it's easy to see why. It's not easy to busy up the screen these days and still be coherent and tasteful. His stuff works..it's fun, intricate, and is the stuff of T-shirt legend...Print them all! Reminds me, I need to print mine. Ugh.

Chiho Aoshima

I'm sure, by now, you have all seen the amazing prints that Chiho Aoshima has been touring around the globe. The 31 year old Tokyo digital artist has a collection of works currently at Blum & Poe in Santa Monica (Not sure if it's still there). I'll keep this one short but peep the stuff and salivate over which print you want to buy to put in your studio. A signed one for me please...Grazi.

BettySmile

Not much information on the artist, BettySmile, but I'm guessing there is a french angle here although the header states she is a Graphic Designer out of Morroco. Here we go again with the Frenchers...but nevertheless, they are churning it out. Cycle through her work...very beautiful and detailed forms with a very nice sense of space and color. They would make a very cool postcard collection...then I can send them all out for christmas...oh man, gotta get gifts before I bail..Help!

Weekly Hits Home

Another blog, Another day...But this time, SoCal's own resident hipster and designer executive of BL:ND, Chris Do (Yeah, same name...Let's not go there), gets a feature and cover in this week's LA Weekly Newspaper. Respect. Check out the article and give a shout out. Hope all had a great Turkey Weekend! Cheers.

Pray for a Glorious Land

Theo Gennitsakis is a greek designer out of Paris France...here we go with the frenchies again. A Web Designer for Nurun in France, he boasts some work for viewage reminiscent of some past FUEL/RAZORFISH collage candy. Either way he is skillin it for sure and has more bio information at this link. Not much more to say outside of the fact that I'm lusting for a warm Churro. Yummy.

NinjaCruise

Spotted some tasty bits on the NinjaCruise site and thought I'd share the wealth to those who haven't dug through all the fun work. I have yet to find out who and where this is all from due to the minimality of the site but his/her email is available to those who want to reach out. Time to go buy some jackets and sweaters kids...it's chillin up.

Stefan Lucut

A Student at the Univerity of Art Timisoara (??), Stefan Lucut, studying graphic design and freelancing about. If you ask me, he has major potential considering the stuff I'm seeing out of top tier art schools these days. Romania is the land of Dracula and evil gypsies but he seems to manage just fine despite all that. Some coolness to peep guys. Enjoy and drop him an e-mail. I really didn't like the version of Dracula with Keanu Reeves in it.

Stoav Graphics

Steven De Loenen studied graphic and advertising design at the Royal Academy for Fine Arts in Antwerp / Belgium before graduating and pursuing a career in Multimedia design in the late 1990's. Stoav graphics is a one-man-agency destined to take over, well,...Belgium. If my memory serves me correctly, Jean Claude Van Damme is from Belgium as well. Let's hope his career lasts longer than the Karate Ex-Star. I'm sure it will. Hooray Belgium.

Materialust

Another Josh Spear netted shirt company...LA based Materialust, is really a globe trotting brand that showcases designs based on a different place across the globe: Paris and two versions of Tijuana. The line is also available at a handful of top notch boutiques. Simple yet nostalgic is some ways. We’ve seen many great t-shirt lines come and go, but this one looks like they are here to stay. JS. Buy them now before Fall hits hard and your ass is freezin just to look rad.

System Kings

System Kings is an "idea" that consists of exclusive artists brought together by their motivation to express art beyond its typical convention. It includes submitted works from bigwigs such as jarek K. Nickerson and Leigh Flurry. It seems it is in its preliminary stages but definitely some stuff worth sifting through. Hmmm..anyone know where I can buy Jolt Cola?

Birds & Bullets

Eric Bailey is a San Francisco painter with an urban appeal and style all his own. He exhibits his work all over and has done a nice body of work for a multitude of commercial clients as well. Read up on his bio and check the artillery..Nice. This blogging is hard man...but I refuse to retire...Defy the odds I will!! Rawwrr!

Spoonlight

Sheila Seyfert is Spoonlight. A Illustrator, Graphic Designer, photographer, and advertising fiend, she hosts a nice range of work with very premium sensibilities. She tears it up in Berlin, Germany and has a long list of great clients. She is currently a freelance art director and has my attention! I hear the Octoberfest parties there are out of this world...Oh Boy, That's on my list.

Espira

Espira is a self-taught London based artist that mixes the beauty and style of haute coutre, and historial costume with the mundane and commonplace such as shopping trollies, cigarettes, page 3 girls and kebabs, to create powerful surrealistic punk portraits.and has exhibited his work worldwide. Raised in a strict mormon family, he developed strong visual interpretations of symbolism and iconography now prevalent in his work which travels all over the world. Quite the nice little collection of stuff...Damn europeans are on it these days..step up peeps..roll up!!

Mademoiselle Jean

This site is somewhat slow (lots of loading) but I still dig it. Aurore Jean is a 29 year old fashion designer and photographer jammin out of french-land. The feminine Vegas decor seems a little bit more like dressing for her fashion photos, but it works, none the less. As long as you don't stab yourself from the wait times for each section, it's worth a lookie. Harps make me feel weird.

C Koi ce hold Up ?

Ok...you guys areg gonna have to help me out on this one. My French isn't that great so my research on this site was limited. But, the fun animations and visuals were more than enough to satisfy my visceral cravings for now. Someone translate for me and tell me if it's a farce. Otherwise...click around and enjoi. Is anyone gonna leave comments? Boooo.

Bas Rutten Self-Defense

Howdy Kids...I really need to catch up on all of this. I feel a bit guilty but I got a good one on my hands. It's not about art, design, or animation but if you got a good sense of humor I'm sure this will be a riot. For those who don't know, Bas Rutten is a shootfighter out of the Netherlands who has been competing in competitions such as UFC, and Pride for quite some time now. I knew he was a charismatic guy but this Insutructional video clip takes it to the next level!!. Check it here. Da Dang Da Da Dang Da Da Dang!!!

Pomme Chan

Pomme Chan was born in Thailand and has a BA in Interior Design from Siilparkorn University. She then blazed at Grey Worldwide before moving to London to study Graphic Design and is now a Freelance Illustrator who has a nice list of clients. I'm feeling the psuedo-sketch and doodle quality of the work, even as finished and some of the pieces are..they work. Definitely some charming stuff. That's it..done for the night. Secret Identity safe!

The Fifth Order

This guy, Jeff Huang, is 19 years young...at least that's what it says on his website...A young New Yorker in the school of visual arts he's definitely spewing out some nice looking Still-age. And, if he's trulky 19 then, Wow! If you know a little about the Tag/Writing culture then you'd be appreciative of some of the stuff he is doing with 3D and writing..There's a manga-ish and architectural feel to the forms. Hooray. So, please peep while I get ready to hit the sack. Zzzzzz.

Electric Heat

I'm sure, by now, most of the designer bandwagoners have seen Nigel Evan Dennis's website. He's only 23, (yeah..23) but has packed a lot of spicy sauce into his portfolio. Reminiscent of some, dare I say, Stardust work (who he's worked for) and even some Bryan Louie power style, but all his own...it seems he's really stretched his legs into other realms of art media...which is rad. Anyhow, scroll down through his body of work and enjoy. It is Friday...Please go see "Who Killed the Electric Car" and be elightened.

Ben Frost is Dead

Ben Frost is a painter, who currently lives and works in Sydney, Australia. His work explores themes of alienation, dispossession, and perversity that exists behind the facade of contemporary western society. I admire the style for sure. He has exhibited his work all over the world and has been commissioned by high end magazines as well as major publications. Pretty amazing stuff and definitely some powerful imagery as well. There's a designer's sense to his paintings; The compositions just sorta make sense. Buy some of his cool souvenir coasters on the site. I'm still trying to figure out how he's doing all this stuff if he's dead..uuh..Cheerio!

Ronald Kurniawan

Ronald Kurniawan graduated with honors from Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, California. Inspired by ideograms, syllables, letterforms, beasts and heroic landscapes, he slowly but surely continues to create a visual language where the wilderness and civilization could merge happily together. He's lives in LA and continues to jam on amazing pieces for a multitude of clients from all over. Man, I want one of those color paintings bad!

Ben Loiz

Ben currently lives in Los Angeles, CA. His work has been exhibited internationally and featured in a number of books and newsstand publications. Besides exhibitions and his product line NeeNoon, which he runs with his wife Reneé, Ben works with a diverse group of clients developing distinctive projects that range from products and packaging to print and identity. Man, these guys are nonstop...makes me feel guilty for taking breaks.

Bong Vodka

From Mr. Spear's site...Bong Vodka just launched a gorgeous artist bottles series in collaboration with artists: Jason Thielke, Yosoh, Matthew Curry and Ogi. The limited edition bottles (and boxes) will be available in stores throughout Florida, Texas, New York, Las Vegas and California at the end of August. Check out the Spirit Of The Brand site to learn more about their unique program– they are constantly searching for artists for new bottle designs, boxes, t-shirts and music compilations.

Nucleus

Did a last minute 1 day power drive to comicon and met the guys from Nucleus who happens to be in Alhambra...so nearby. Anyhow, I bought a couple t-shirts and a signed Mari Inukai print. They host galleries and sell really nice emerging artist prints as well as a slew of pretty cool attire and books. Check it out...it's like a non-arrogant version of Giant Robot..Uhm, did I say that? Yes I did. Hmmpff!

My Dead Pony

Straight from Belgium is Raphael (yes, that's his whole name), a self-taught illustrator who has a great eye...raw talent for sure. Lots of cool personal work that is worth hanging up on any persons wall. He's for hire so someone get on the phone and let this guy rock some concerts for ya. I want an Oreo Shake BAD!

Noper

Someone comment and tell me where this fool is from, please, cause there is so much good stuff to munch on. Oh wait... ".ro" is romania. Hmmm. Lots of intriguing photomontages and illustrations. That's all I know...now look at all the work and make something amazing so I can post on here and feel worthy of doing something meaningful for mankind.

Saintgraphy

Saintgraphy is a design boutique in Argentina that flexes illustration, programming, motion, and great design. Great high-quality stuff and fun artwork to peep. Man...so much good stuff out there. This is why we rock this madness...it hurts so good!

Icon Drawer

I know how much we all love those custom icons. Click here to get some free cool icons for your mac OS. Lots of links to other icon sites as well..some free and some for real cash money...you gotta get serious for those premium ones. Customize to be a straight up playa if you want to be too cool for school. Uhm.

Kim Joon

Please peep this gallery by Korean Artist, Kim Joon. Some of this stuff just blew me away. He has apparently been painting and creating this stuff for a while and I'm surprised I haven't caught it earlier. It's fabulous...check out the all the galleries. Shasta Cola ain't Coke.

It's Art Dammit

Aussie based designer, Jeremy Somers, is an illustrator, print guru, web designer, and photography stud. There is, without a doubt, some very nicely done pieces in his web portfolio. Some Stardust-esque stuff that's perhaps infiltrating distant shores. Cool Stuff..uhh..Dood...This Brie sandwich is causing me all sorts of problems.

Chuck Anderson

Holy Cow! It's almost been a month and I haven't posted a damn thing! Sorry about the absence as I am beginning to surface again from the swamp known as The Tank. Anyhow...Let's get started. Some may know Chuck Anderson as the barely-legal, almost 21 year old designer kingpin. In the two years since he left high school he has developed an incredibly unique signature dreamy ‘no pattern’ style while building an admirable client list that boasts heavy hitter names like Saatchi and Saatchi, Microsoft, and Citibank. - Josh Spear. I mean, what's not too love...buy a print if you're feelin it. Hallelujah.

Die Gestalten

Any designer geek knows that Die Gestalten churns out the better design books for consumers these days. Although I've fallen a bit out of that loop I've noticed some interesting titles being released. But, if not for the books, check out the site to see some great illustrative depictions of some FIFA stars accompanied by their last games' scores. Pretty cool.

The Poster List

This is an excerpt from their site...check it cause their are some great posters left to be had. "The Poster list is a showcase of concert posters that we have come across from various venues in Canada and The U.S. We have stockpiled tons over the years and this is an outlet to get some of them into the world and out of our homes" Enjoi.

Fiodor Sumkin

Fiodor Sumkin lives in Paris with his girlfriend and has an impressive collection of work on display on his site for all you gawkers to check out. You should read his "about" page. A true talented starving artist who is still determined to exercise his skills and love forhis work. Growing up in Eastern Germany, I'm sure he's all painted up running around the streets right now with the World Cup invading the cities walls. Go USA...meh..nevermind, they suck.

Ian Axton

This bloke tears it up near London, where he resides, and has 6 years experience in Interactive design, Illustration, painting, print, branding, and all the other juicy stuff that artists like this like to be involved with. Thom Yorke

The Spear man served up this info and If you're a long-time Radiohead fan, like me, then I'm sure you've been waiting for the next installment from the Best Rock band in the World. In my opinion anyway. For the time being, Thom Yorke's debut album titled "The Eraser" will be released in the US on July 11th and promises some experimental electronic soundscapes that will knock you off your feet. Arranged by long-time collaborator Nigel Godrich, this will be a dandy.

Bulgaria Magazine

Here's another premium online Art magazine that is worth flipping through. Bulgaria Magazine
kicks it up a notch with a varierty of interesting things to look at. Reminds me of older Carson mags...From photography, to illustration, to design, to type play, etc. Ther are 5 mags up to peeps..hope everyone had a great memorial weekend...mondazed.

iamalwayshungry

For those who don't know, Nessim Higsom is a powerhouse designer who's studio, iamalwayshungry, is constantly churning out some of the more premium design stuff in the world circuit. Not to mention the guy does, Identity Branding, Interactive, Illustration, and Motion Graphics. I haven't seen his stuff in a while but there's always some great new stuff when I stumble back. Keep it "El Camino" Real!

Ashley Wood

I'm a huge comic book fan so naturally this style of illustration and painting gives me wood. Especially the awesome Megatron impeding on that pour soul. Residing in Aussie land, Ashley Wood works with some pretty distinguished clientele. Not to mention the beautiful Spawn covers that he has done. He is an internationally acclaimed, award winning, commercial illustrator, concept designer, and comic book artist and has been jammin on the sickness for over 10 years...Oh so good. Please Peep.

Audrey Kawasaki

Check this out Audrey Kawasaki's website. A talented artist who did some trade in NYC and now residing in Los Angeles. The soft pastel like illustrations are quite nice...simple yet stylized enough without being too brash. Peep a picture of her popping out of the screen on her info page...muhahaha.

The Real American Idol

There is no way I couldn't share this one...Hit the MVPA awards on Thursday since the Tank did the graphics package for the show...met and took pics with a few big wigs and directors but this was my defining shot. A snap with the man himself, Michel Gondry who won for best Hip-Hop video (Kanye West's Heard 'Em Say)...Hmmmm. I got in a full ass-kissing 3 sentences and was returned with a friendly nod and "Thank You very much, that means alot." More than enough for me!
